There’s a dieting myth that dictates everyone should eat a certain type of food once they decide to go on a diet. That’s obviously not true as everyone should not conform to a typical dieting menu as it might not be suitable for their body system. Forcing a diet plan on yourself if you can’t take the stress that come with eating only a particular food can be distressing and not motivational in the least. The idea is to cut down on as many unhealthy elements as you can muster and at the same time, reduce your daily food intake gradually. The habit of snacking between meals is highly subjective as some people find that it helps them to cope with extreme hunger therefore eliminating the need to constantly consume anything that moves! On the other hand, some individuals find that regular meals eaten consistently can help them maintain an optimal weight.

Junk food is not as fatal as you think. As long as you eat a minute portion and not over indulge in those high calorie crisps, you’ll be fine. And if you must have some sweets to suck on, make sure your selection of candies and chewing gum are sugar free alternatives. This way you can easily lose unwanted pounds and keep the dentist away!

Tips to Alleviate Gym Related Stress

Going to the gym is a great way of getting ample exercise in order to stay in shape. However, there are lots of people who find going to the gym rather troublesome so here are some tips to alleviate your gym-related stress!

First, you should fill your gym bag with necessities such as small towels, hair cleansing products, exercise apparel, toiletry kit and extra pairs of undergarments. You might also want to pack your MP3 player filled with your favorite tracks as well as an energy bar to keep your tummy from rumbling post workout. Make sure to tuck in a bottle of your preferred sports drunk so that you won’t be dehydrated.

At the gym, remember to warm up before your start your regular routine. Stretch your body or indulge in a three minute treadmill session and you will find that your body will be better prepared for the coming workout. It also helps if you sip half a glass of cold coffee or other caffeinated beverages before you workout as you will be more energized to perform. Ideally you should not exert your body at the gym for more than 45 minutes. After working out, you should fill your stomach with food containing protein and carbohydrates like an egg sandwich.
